Google has integrated its Nano Banana AI image editor into NotebookLM, enhancing the platform's Video Overviews feature. Users can now choose from six artistic styles—including watercolor and anime—to transform generated explainer videos. The update also adds contextual illustrations drawn directly from source material and introduces a micro‑video format called Briefs. The rollout starts with Pro users this week and will extend to all NotebookLM users in the upcoming weeks.

Search Integration

Within Google Search, Nano Banana enables new ways to create and edit images through the official Google app. By entering a chat prompt, users can ask the AI to generate a stylized version of an existing image. Additionally, photos captured via Google Lens can be instantly edited using the AI editor. This functionality is currently live in English for customers in the United States, with plans to expand to additional countries and languages.

Google Photos Integration

Google has announced that Nano Banana will be brought to Google Photos in the weeks ahead, though specific details remain limited. The company has indicated that more information will be shared soon. Given that Nano Banana is an AI‑driven image editor and Google Photos serves as a storage and organization platform for images, the integration is expected to allow users to edit their stored photos directly with AI tools.

Rollout and Availability

The initial deployment focuses on US English users and Google’s Pro tier, with broader availability slated for the near future. Google has also signaled that additional languages and regions will be supported as the integrations mature.
