TCL showcased the NXTPAPER 60 Ultra at IFA 2025, positioning the handset as a differentiator in the crowded mobile market. As a late entrant to modern smartphones, TCL aims to stand out by emphasizing eye‑comfort features derived from its NXTPAPER technology, first seen in a tablet at CES 2025.
NXTPAPER Eye‑Comfort Technology
The NXTPAPER 60 Ultra is the first phone to incorporate the newest version of TCL’s eye‑comfort screen, dubbed NXTPAPER 4.0. The technology seeks a balance between e‑paper and OLED displays, reducing eye strain‑inducing factors while retaining vibrant colors and high refresh rates. Key hardware‑level features include built‑in blue‑light filtering, a matte anti‑glare coating, and flicker‑free brightness control. A dedicated Ink Mode button allows users to switch the display into an e‑ink‑like presentation, further easing visual fatigue.
Hardware Specifications
The handset sports a 7.2‑inch display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution, delivering smooth motion and clear detail. Under the hood, a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor powers the device, paired with 12 GB of RAM and an additional 12 GB of virtual RAM. Storage options include 256 GB and 512 GB configurations.
Photography is handled by a three‑camera system anchored by a 50 MP periscope telephoto sensor. This camera provides 3× optical zoom and a 6× lossless digital zoom capability. The phone is equipped with a 5,200 mAh battery, supporting the device’s performance and display demands.
Market Availability and Pricing
The NXTPAPER 60 Ultra will initially in Europe, Latin America and Asian markets. Pricing is set at €499 for the 256 GB model and €549 for the 512 GB variant. TCL has indicated that the device will become available later in the month of its announcement.
