Amazon Launches AI Chatbot to Help Sellers Create Ads

New AI Chatbot for Seller Advertising

Amazon is expanding its suite of artificial‑intelligence tools for marketplace sellers by offering a chatbot that can generate advertising material from a simple text description. Sellers input the type of ad they want, and the system pulls information from brand guidelines, product listings and other store data to produce concepts for both static and video advertisements.

End‑to‑End Creative Generation

The chatbot can create a full suite of creative assets. In an example shown by Amazon, a seller asks the AI to produce taglines and images, and the system then writes a script, selects background music, generates a voice‑over and assembles a storyboard. This end‑to‑end capability is intended to reduce the time and expense of designing ads, encouraging sellers to experiment more rapidly with promotional ideas.

Cross‑Platform Ad Placement

Ads created with the chatbot are eligible to run on Amazon’s online marketplace as well as on other Amazon‑owned properties, including Prime Video, the Kindle platform and Twitch. This broad placement potential gives sellers access to a wide audience across the company’s entertainment and retail ecosystems.

Underlying Technology

The tool is currently in beta and runs on Amazon’s Nova AI model in combination with Anthropic’s Claude model. Amazon notes that the chatbot’s functionality builds on its existing AI offerings, such as tools that generate AI‑driven product videos.

Expanded “Agentic” Seller Assistant

Alongside the new ad‑creation chatbot, Amazon is adding “agentic” capabilities to its AI‑powered seller assistant. The enhanced assistant can monitor inventory levels, flag items that are selling slowly, suggest price adjustments and scan a seller’s account for listings that might violate new product‑safety policies. It can also recommend new product categories based on observed customer behavior.

Implications for Sellers

By automating much of the creative process and providing actionable business insights, the AI chatbot and upgraded seller assistant aim to streamline how merchants market and manage their products on Amazon. The tools promise faster turnaround for ad creation, cost savings on creative production and more data‑driven decision making for inventory and pricing strategies.
