The outage started just before 7 a.m. ET on Monday, impacting Claude.AI, Claude Code, and the Claude Opus 4.6 model. Anthropic’s status page continued to show errors for more than two hours.

Downdetector recorded a sharp increase in reports at approximately 6:45 a.m. ET, with nearly 2,000 users indicating problems. By 9:30 a.m. ET, the number of reports had decreased to 275.

Resolution and Statement

At 11 a.m. ET, Anthropic released a statement confirming that all services were operational again. The company expressed gratitude to its users and noted that the team was working to meet the substantial demand for Claude that had been observed in recent days.

Ownership Disclosure

The report also disclosed that both Downdetector and CNET share the same parent company, Ziff Davis.
