The Spot+Scrub AI robot marks Dyson’s entry into combined vacuum‑and‑mop robotics. It adopts a round chassis, a departure from the square Vis Nav model, and incorporates a self‑cleaning roller mop, lidar‑based navigation and a built‑in carpet sensor that boosts suction power to 18,000 Pa on carpeted surfaces. The robot’s mop raises when it encounters carpet to prevent dampening rugs, and a rubber bristle brush behind the mop tackles dry debris.
AI‑Powered Stain Detection
Equipped with onboard cameras and green lasers, the unit can identify stains, assess whether they are dry or wet, and repeatedly clean the area until the stain disappears. The system also detects objects such as socks and cables to avoid collisions.
