AI‑Centric Design

Honor markets the Magic 8 Pro as its "first self‑evolving AI smartphone." Central to this claim is the YOYO Agent, an AI tool that the brand says can assist in more than 3,000 scenarios. Sample uses highlighted by Honor include deleting blurry photos from the camera roll on command and composing business emails using information from the user’s inbox.

Access to the YOYO Agent is provided by a dedicated AI Button. When held down, the button also launches a Google Lens‑style YOYO Video Call feature that gathers information about subjects within the viewfinder. Users can reassign the button to trigger a range of one‑tap functions, adding flexibility to the interaction model.

Camera Innovations

The Magic 8 Pro’s camera suite receives AI‑driven upgrades. "AI anti‑shake technology" promises clearer, steadier shots when zooming, while the Magic Color engine—described as the industry’s first AI‑powered color engine—aims to improve color processing for higher‑quality images.

Hardware includes a three‑camera array: a 200 MP telephoto lens, a 60 MP primary lens, and a 50 MP ultra‑wide lens that also supports macro photography.

Performance and Display

Under the hood, the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which leverages a Hexagon NPU to accelerate the AI features. The device pairs this with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage.

Display specifications feature a 6.71‑inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1256 × 2080 pixels, a variable refresh rate up to 120 Hz, and peak brightness of up to 6,000 nits, delivering vivid visuals even in bright environments.

Battery and Charging

Battery capacity varies by market: a 7,100 mAh silicon‑carbon model for China and a 6,270 mAh version for Europe. Both support 100 W wired charging and 80 W wireless charging for rapid top‑ups.

Design, Software, and Availability

The Magic 8 Pro is offered in four colors—Glacier White, Sky Cyan, Black, and Sunrise Gold—and weighs 213 g. It runs Magic OS 10, an Android‑based skin that introduces a translucent visual design and expanded customisation options.

Pre‑orders began in China on the day of the announcement, with plans to expand to European markets later in the year. While UK pricing has not been confirmed, expectations align with the pricing of the predecessor, the Magic 7 Pro.
