Nvidia Expands GeForce Now to Amazon Fire TV Sticks

Nvidia revealed that its cloud‑gaming platform GeForce Now is now compatible with three Amazon Fire TV Stick models. The supported devices are the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus (2nd Gen) running Fire OS 8.1.6.0 or later, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen) with the same OS version, and the Fire TV Stick 4K Max (1st Gen) running Fire OS 7.7.1.1 or later. By adding GeForce Now to these streaming sticks, Nvidia aims to extend the value of its membership without requiring users to purchase additional hardware.

The service provides access to a library of over 2,000 titles, including popular games such as ARC Raiders, Baldur’s Gate 3, Fortnite, and the classic benchmark Crysis. Gameplay is streamed at a maximum resolution of 1080p and up to 60 frames per second, but HDR support is not available.

Implications for Gamers

GeForce Now’s arrival on Fire TV Sticks follows recent expansions to Linux machines and continues its compatibility with Windows PCs and Macs. For gamers dealing with soaring RAM prices and a lack of new graphics cards from Nvidia this year, the ability to stream games on existing TV hardware offers a cost‑effective alternative to upgrading a gaming PC. While the streaming quality is limited compared with high‑end dedicated hardware, the service provides a convenient way to play a wide range of games without the need for powerful local components.
