For Pro users, a storyboarding tool on the web enables planning of video sequences before generation.

Social Features Aim for Community Interaction

Sora is experimenting with localized community channels, enabling users to share videos within specific groups such as universities, workplaces, or hobby circles. This move seeks to shift the experience from a chaotic public feed to more focused community interactions.

Payment Structure Updated

OpenAI has revised its payment model. Free users previously faced a daily limit of 30 video generations, while Pro users could generate up to 100 per day. The new system allows anyone who reaches their limit to purchase an additional ten generations for $4. Users who subscribe to ChatGPT Pro automatically gain Pro status in Sora.

Longer Video Limits and Future Plans

Recent updates increased the maximum video length for free users to 15 seconds and added an extra 10 seconds for Pro users, totaling 35 seconds on the web. OpenAI indicated that more advanced editing tools and longer video capabilities are forthcoming, aiming to attract professional creators who require robust features.
