Google has added a new in‑browser video editing tool called Google Vids to Google Drive. When a user previews a video, an “Open” button appears that launches Vids, allowing trimming, text overlays, music addition and other edits directly in the cloud. The edited clip is saved as a new file that must be exported manually. Access is limited to paid Google Workspace and education plans, including various Gemini add‑ons, and the feature works on the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox and Edge on Windows. Supported formats include MP4, QuickTime, OGG and WebM, with a 35‑minute runtime and 4 GB size limit per clip.
