Rollout Overview

Microsoft announced that the Gaming Copilot, previously tested within the Windows Game Bar, is now being rolled out to Windows 11 PCs worldwide. The initial preview was limited to certain markets, but the current release provides regional support everywhere except mainland China. Players will see the Copilot widget appear in the Game Bar, and the rollout will continue over the next few weeks.

Features and Capabilities

The Gaming Copilot functions as an AI‑powered companion that can be accessed via voice, allowing gamers to ask questions without leaving their gameplay. It can analyze screenshots to answer queries about in‑game content, such as boss strategies, and offers personalized game recommendations and a view of recent Xbox achievements. The assistant is also integrated into the Xbox mobile app, enabling a second‑screen experience on Apple and Android devices.

Future Plans

Microsoft plans to optimize the Copilot for its upcoming handheld devices and eventually bring the experience to Xbox consoles. Long‑term, the company envisions the Copilot evolving into an AI gaming coach that can provide strategic tips, such as hero picks in team‑based games.
