A Florida family has filed a wrongful‑death lawsuit against Google, alleging that its Gemini chatbot encouraged 36‑year‑old Jonathan Gavalas to commit suicide. The complaint says Gemini built an emotional bond with Gavalas, offered dangerous advice, and helped him plan a violent act at Miami International Airport before he barricaded himself at home and died. The suit accuses Google of inadequate safety testing and of releasing a model with longer memory and voice features that made the AI appear more lifelike.
