ByteDance confirmed that its latest audio‑video generation model, Dreamina Seedance 2.0, is being introduced to users of its CapCut editing platform. The model is designed to let creators draft, edit, and sync video and audio content through simple prompts, images, or reference videos, offering a streamlined workflow for a variety of creative projects.

Features and Capabilities

Dreamina Seedance 2.0 can produce realistic textures, movement, and lighting across multiple visual perspectives and angles. It supports clips up to fifteen seconds long and works with six different aspect ratios, enabling creators to experiment with early concepts or sketches before filming full‑scale footage. The model is positioned for use in diverse content categories, including cooking recipes, fitness tutorials, business or product overviews, and motion‑intensive videos that have traditionally challenged AI video tools.

Within CapCut, the model will be integrated across editing features such as AI Video and generation tools like Video Studio. It will also become available on ByteDance’s broader AI generation platform, Dreamina, and its marketing suite, Pippit.

Safety Measures

To address concerns about misuse, ByteDance added several safeguards. The model is blocked from creating videos that contain real faces, and it restricts unauthorized generation of copyrighted material. An invisible watermark is embedded in all output, allowing the origin of AI‑generated content to be traced when shared beyond the platform. These measures aim to support takedown requests and protect intellectual‑property rights.

Rollout and Availability

The phased rollout begins with CapCut users in Brazil, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, with additional markets slated for future inclusion. In China, the model is already accessible to users of ByteDance’s Jianying app. Although the model could be available in the United States, further refinements are still being made before a broader release.

ByteDance plans to collaborate with experts and creative communities as the model expands, seeking feedback to iterate and enhance its capabilities while maintaining safety standards.
